In the 90s I studied at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. Next to my artwork and writings, I work in (mental) health care, and cultural crossovers as a social entrepreneur and consultant.

Essayer betekent proberen

Je hebt van die dagen dat je alle wereldproblemen oplost. Vandaag was die dag.

Kunst is een vorm van sociaal ondernemen. Het idee van een sociale sculptuur is een aspect van kunst. Je kunt alles verklaren vanuit dit concept.

Tegelijkertijd is kunst het minst sociale, hoewel niet-sociaal eigenlijk niet bestaat.

Alles is random. Maar toch weet iedereen wat "schoon" is, mooi, echt, of hoe je het noemen wil. Onze blik is gefocust op totale orde, maar dan met zoveel mogelijk zichtbare randomness. Dan ervaren wij iets als mooi, waar, of hoe je het noemen wilt.

Dit is mijn eerste post. Vandaar. De titel gaat over Montaigne, de schrijver van Essays. Ik neem aan dat het zijn vondst was, deze titel. Hij bedoelde duidelijk iets anders dan wij heden ten dage onder een essay verstaan. Vandaar dus.
